E3 2009: PSP Go and what to do with old UMDs?
By: Alan Ng | June 3, 2009 | Leave a CommentFollowing on from the news about the UMD-less Sony PSP Go!, there has been a debate started on what consumers should do with their UMD’s now that the PSP Go! won’t read them.
As most of you will be aware, the PSP Go! will feature 16GB of flash memory and will not require UMD’s at all. This is a step in the right direction for many, but frustration at the same time for those that have just bought new UMD software and memory sticks.
According to IGN, they have contacted Sony to ask this very question and they stated the following: “We’re definitely exploring opportunities.” IGN have suggested a possible option of transferring UMDs onto the Go’s internal memory somehow, without being too expensive for the customer.
