QuickTime 7.6.2 Mac and PC Update: 10 critical bugs fixed
By: Daniel Chubb | June 2, 2009 | Leave a CommentYesterday saw Apple release QuickTime 7.6.2 to download for the Mac and PC; this update has fixed 10 critical bugs. These QuickTime vulnerabilities included one that was in a Mac hacking book around 3 months ago.
Two of the bugs patched are for Windows XP and Vista versions of QuickTime only, while the other eight affect both the Windows and Mac versions.
These bugs are the most serious kind, what Apple call “arbitrary code execution”. If these threats were exploited on a Mac or PC, it could lead to the hijacking of the machine.
