New 2009 iPhone’s in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities
By: Peter Chubb | June 2, 2009 | Leave a CommentLast month we reported that the new Apple iPhone 2009 was getting an upgrade from 8GB to 16GB, and that there was then going to be a new 32GB version. With that news, we assumed that there would no longer be an 8GB version, but it seems we were wrong. There are reports that the new iPhone for 2009 will have 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities.
Engadget received this information from a trusted source, and it seems that these new capacity handsets have now been given approval by the PCS Type Review Certification Board. This does look as though it is true, as there have been rumors of basic version of the iPhone, which would be an entry-level model.
The Apple iPhone with the smaller storage capacity should sell on AT&T for under $100, this is keeping in fashion with a similar thing that Nokia did with the E71x. We will only have to wait a week until we know more, well that is Apple have anything to say on the new iPhone.
