Apple iTunes 8.2 Update: Ready for iPhone 3.0 firmware
By: Peter Chubb | June 2, 2009 | Leave a CommentYesterday I replaced my old hard drive with a new 128GB SSD and had the long process of installing all of my programs. When it came to installing Apple iTunes, I noticed that it had been updated to 8.2 Update. I know that it is now ready for the new iPhone 3.0 firmware, but what’s new in iTunes 8.2?
Cnet reports that Apple has also updated the QuickTime video player, which works in conjunction with iTunes, so make certain that you tick that box to download the new version. The new iTunes 8.2 Update as we mentioned above is ready for iPhone 3.0 firmware, this system upgrade will also be used for the iPod Touch.
There is thought to be one security fix with the new iTunes update, but several security fixes in the QuickTime 7.6.2. These include a number of patches for holes, which could have been exploited to run an arbitrary code; this would be achieved by maliciously created PSD, JP2. Movie files would have also been exploited.
