New Env 3 LG-VX9200: Hands on review

By: Peter Chubb | June 1, 2009 | 9 Comments

Here is a quick hands on video of the new Env 3 LG-VX9200; it has just been released on Verizon so you can pick one up now. The handset is $130, with a $50 mail-in rebate, but is $180 if you are not eligible for the upgrade.

The guy in the video says that the phone is amazing, he got the V Cast with it so will download a video extremely fast. The Env 3 LG-VX9200 comes with a 3-megapixel camera, but does have an extremely high resolution.

The battery is very big but it does offer 460 hours standby time and over 5 hours of talk time. The phone has a full QUERTY keyboard, great for emailing and texting. The normal keypad is nice and large and has a decent size screen.

with the env 2,i, along with others i have talked to, have issues with the fron screen working. the “ok” button doesnt work. i believe it is front he wire connections that travel through the hinges. is this problem fixed in the new env 3?

Reception is HORRIBLE.. My wife and I both own one now for about 1 week and she has dropped 6 calls and I have dropped 4. This on (2) brand new phones? Thinking I made a bad choice!

My daughter upgraded to this phone after her old LG phone died. The phone’s mic cannot filter out street and background noise. She mostly calls when walking outside. I had no problem understanding her with her old LG phone. This phone sucks for voice communications. It may be great for texting but don’t purchase this if you want to use this phone to talk. You will not be able to hold a normal conversation on this model.

I have owned this phone for 2 months and love the text part, however, the phone has been dropping some of my calls and now the phone is not turning on and off. NOT GOOD!

has problems with memory cards and with camera auto shutting down the camera with and without a memory card inserted.

The driver for the usb connection does not allow the phone to be seen by windows.

okay. i have this phone and i’m on my second one because it shuts off & freezes. a couple weeks ago it froze 8 times in 10 minutes. and when it turns off i have to take out the battery to get it to turn back on. i hate it. its supposed to be better but in reality it stinks. i had the env2 and i wish i kept it because i had none of these problems with it. Overall, the env3 suckss! i dont recommend getting it.

I completly agree.. I have the EN V 3 and after nine months its begining to be a pain in my ass.. Now it keeps saying that I have low memory and I barly have any text messages and pictures.. So now I cannot recive any text messages and on top of that I cannot look at what little pictures I have because it keeps frezzing up.. And the SD card I have doesnt help one little bit…. I say if anyone gets this phone its just a waist of money!.

Phone Shut down on its own

First LG-UX9200 was purchased in 6'2009, then it shut down on its own very often and Verizon replaced a refurbished phone in 10'2009. The replacement works great till mid Nov'2010 (passed 1 yr warranty).

Brought it back to Verizon and was told that they knew abt the defect but can't replace it because it passed 1 yr warranty. I asked Verizon why they don't recall the product when there is defect. Verizon told me to call LG.

Called LG customer service, LG denied any defect in their product, and said Verizon is wrong saying that there is defect w the product. Well, once search on line, there are plenty of users like me — got turned off without warning.

Verizon & LG are both denying responsibility. Whoever bought this phone from Verizon should bring back to exchange a replacement before the 1 year is up.

Wasn't happy with Verizon & LG's attitude handling their defective products.
