Palm Pre News: webOS, Media Sync and iTunes
By: Alan Ng | May 29, 2009 | 1 CommentSome fresh details have been released on the upcoming Palm Pre smartphone from Executive Chairman, Jon Rubenstein. While most of the news has been on upcoming release dates and prices, we are now starting to hear of specific features we should expect from the Pre.
As reported from Mobile Burn, Rubenstein spoke about Palm Media Sync, which is a feature of the Pre’s OS that will enable users to sync music with the Apple iPhone. Using a USB cable, you’ll simply be able to sync all your favourite tracks from iTunes over to the Pre, although MobileBurn has pointed out that Palm Media Sync only supports DRM-free music.
Another feature of the Palm Pre is that it will have support for Amazon’s MP3 store, giving users an easy option to purchase songs directly from the phone. Palm’s answer to the App store, the Palm App Catalog will be available from launch, while there are also reports that the Pre will have an integrated Twitter search feature on it.
