Palm Pre News: Push Gmail Like T-Mobile G1
By: Peter Chubb | May 29, 2009 | 1 CommentThere are reports that the new Palm Pre smartphone will come with IMAP IDLE, this will allow Gmail users to gain instant reception of a new email. This is according to a tipster of My Pre, who has a webOS emulator.
Phones Review explains that only the T-Mobile G1 with the Android OS supports Google’s Push Gmail. The service will also be available on other smartphones running Android, such as the new HTC Magic.
This shows that the close relationship that Palm have with Google looks set to continue, and offers great potential for the upcoming Palm Pre, which is released on June 6. Users of this new smartphone will now get to experience Push Gmail, which will be synced through Synergy.
