Microsoft Surface and VPlay video mixing

Microsoft Research Cambridge is developing VPlay; this interactive system is based on a Microsoft Surface. The system allows for one or multiple users to manipulate video in real time, and has been designed for Vjing.

For those of you who do not know, Vjing is live video mixing, the real time aspect is achieved by using digital objects, which represent video clips, mixers and effects. All the user needs to do is use simple touch gestures to move these things around and arrange them how they like.

Ars Technica managed to locate a video of VPlay, and it is being shown of quite extensively. Once you have read up a little about the new device and then watch the video below, it’s as if you are there why it’s happening.
