Google stole Microsoft’s Bing thunder with Wave
Filed under: News

Yesterday was meant to be a big day for Microsoft, as they announced the launch of Bing, its new search engine. However, things never go according to plan, and Google stole Microsoft’s Bing thunder with Wave. This seemed to knock the wind out of Microsoft’s sails.
Steve Ballmer, Microsoft’s CEO took to the stage while at the All Things Digital conference, and announced to a number of elite executives that the software giant was to release the new search engine, and that it would be called Bing. This would normally attract a lot of attention on the Internet, but something else was going on in another location.
TechCrunch reports that in Sydney, a team of Google engineers announced a new project that nobody knew about, and has been four years in the making. We are of course talking about Wave, which we mentioned in an earlier post. Google handed the announcement differently than Microsoft, instead of telling a number of top business executives, Google did the perfect thing and announced it to 4,000 developers who was attending the Google IO conference.
