
Google I/O News: Android 2.0 (aka Donut)
By: Peter Chubb | May 28, 2009 | Leave a CommentFor those of you who are just coming to grips with having and enjoying cupcake on your G1 handsets, then spare a thought for Google, as their engineers are hard at work on Donut, which will be better known as Android 2.0.
These newer version has been demoed at the first I/O keynote, and the first feature that was being explained was universal search, or Android Search as it is more widely known. This new feature will allow you to search online and locally on your phone’s contacts, music or in your calendars.
Engadget managed to get a small glimpse of the handwriting gestures, which is used for searching through list. The example that was shown at the keynote was drawing the letter e; this then sent you to a certain point in a list of songs. View gallery shots from the Google I/O keynote.
