BlackBerry Enterprise Server PDF problems patched by RIM
By: Peter Chubb | May 28, 2009 | 1 CommentResearch In Motion (RIM), the maker of BlackBerry handsets were dogged with problems to its BlackBerry Enterprise Server’s (BES) BlackBerry Attachment Service, thankfully it has now been patched. The server processes message attachments, which we view on Blackberry handsets.
This has been a common occurrence over the last few months, as RIM has fixed a number of issues with the Enterprise Server, the problem relates to the BES PDF distiller. ComputerWorld have taken a closer look in to this common problem for RIM.
The issue is due to flaws in the BES PDF distiller, attackers could distribute a message with malicious PDF files attached, if that attachment is opened on your BlackBerry device, then you could notice that your device memory could become corrupted.
