
At least 18 new Android phones in 2009

Andy Rubin, who is the senior director for Google Mobile Platforms has been speaking about the companies future plans for the Android operating system.
In this report from Bits, Andy Rubin said that they could even release as much as 20 Android handsets, which could be split between eight or nine different manufacturers.
Interestingly, he also claimed that carriers will be slower in the US to introduce Android phones than in Europe, due to a more competitive market.
