New cars and truck sales drop 30 percent
By: Peter Chubb | May 27, 2009
Car dealers had hoped that the small signs of a recovery in the economy would help with its sales, but is seems not in Wisconsin as cars and truck sales have seen a drop of 30 percent. The report was conducted by Cross-Sell, which is a company who does market analysis reports for auto dealers throughout the U.S.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Cross-Sell reckons that in April sales of new cars and trucks in Wisconsin saw a drop of 30 percent, this is compared to the same time last year. Just 14,600 new cars and trucks were sold in April, compare that to 21,060 in the same period in 2008.
Cross-Sell does report that Wisconsin is doing far better than a nation as a whole, in April U.S. car and truck sales fell by 37 percent in April 2009 compared to that in April of 2008.
