iPhone 3G vs. Palm Pre: Palm winning in poll

Buzz This

Polldaddy always have some great polls going on, this time it is the battle of the smartphones. The website has pitted the Palm Pre against the Apple iPhone 3G and the results show that the Palm pre is winning the poll.

Looking at some of the comments it seems that the reason why the Pre is beating the iPhone 3G is because of AT&T. A number of users live in NYC and web surfing on AT&T is not that great. This is something that has baffled most of us, for Apple to further improve sales and bring some much needed new customers, they should have gone with two carriers, the other being Verizon.

This poll does seem a little outdated though, as it is now looking more likely of a new Apple iPhone for 2009. If you have read some of our previous posts, all the things that have held the iPhone 3G back have now been rectified.

The new iPhone will come with an improved camera adding video recording, greater storage capacity, faster processor, more RAM and much more. So although the Palm Pre is winning the poll with the iPhone 3G, the new iPhone will be a different story.

What is your opinion on these smartphones?

How can anyone have a valid opinion about a phone that hasn’t been released yet??? Also, the post above makes the point that ATT’s subpar data network is holding back the iPhone – a complaint I see often in various forums. So if the network is the problem, a new iPhone by itself cannot overcome this.
