Sony VAIO P with Windows XP
By: Peter Chubb | May 26, 2009 | 1 CommentIt has taken Sony some time, but they have now come to the conclusion that Windows Vista is just too sluggish for its VAIO P, and have decided to use the older XP OS. Sony is still adamant that the VAIO P model VGN-P50 is not a netbook.
As the Sony VAIO P will now come with Windows XP operating system installed, you will not have to go through the hassle of downgrading. The other good news is that you can also keep all of Sony’s optimizations goodies, such as its XMB interface.
Akihabara News explains that the XP version of VAIO P VGN-P50 will start on June 6 in Japan, there is also a hardware boost, such as a 2GHz Atom Z550 processor and a 256GB SSD, at an extra cost of course. The sad fact of the matter is the rest of us still have to make do with a 1.33GHz processor.
