Following on from our earlier news on Best Buy only getting 4 Palm Pre handsets per store, it has been now been revealed that supplies of the Pre will be very limited throughout the US once it goes live on June 6th.
According to BrightHand, it is going to be very hard for the average consumer to pick up a Palm Pre during June. Reports are suggesting that supply will only start to be frequent at the start of July, so trying to pick one up during June is going to prove quite a task for some Pre fans.
Dan Hesse, Sprint’s CEO, had this to say on the expected stock shortages:
“We don’t intend to advertise it heavily early on because we think we are going to have shortages for a while.”
It’s already been confirmed that customers will be able to get their hands on the Pre from Best Buy, and Wal-mart stores. It will be interesting to see if retailers with tons of ‘Pre-orders’ will be able to keep up with the demand.
