We didn’t see this coming. It has been revealed recently that mobile giants Sony Ericsson will have to raise around 100 million Euros, just to stay afloat and competitive in the market.
In a report over at UnwiredView, the news comes after a significant drop in market share and handset sales for the company during the last few months.
According to UWV, the Sony CFO has acknowledged this problem and has blamed it on ‘falling demand and a gap in the product portfolio’.
100 Million Euros this fiscal year though, is a big ask we think. Be interesting to see how Sony Ericsson goes about gaining the money needed. Look out for a Sony Ericsson fundraiser near you!
