PS3′s SingStar and needed improvements
By: Peter Chubb | May 21, 2009 | 3 CommentsThere is no denying the fact that Sony PS3′s SingStar is great for entertaining the whole family, but it can often become frustrating. The new SingStar Pop Edition has a number of improvements over previous versions, but has Sony gone far enough. The best feature has to be the recently released wireless mics
The first thing that I noticed was the new voice control, this is great but they needed to add something more useful into the search facility before voice control, and that is to search by recently added tracks. The problem is you get bored with singing some of the older tracks so would be nice to sing some of your newer titles, the problem is we often forget which tracks we have just added.
This recently added features needs to be added to your download list. On a number of occasions, I have been in the process of downloading new songs when the thing freezes on me, so I have to restart my PlayStation 3. We all know what is coming next; to continue with the download you have to search through the whole download list to see which ones do not have ticks on them.
It would be much easier if there were a recently added tracks choice to the download list. The other problem we have is not with the game itself, but more to do with Sony’s SingStar servers, the thing always seems to crash, such as when I am downloading new tracks or viewing the online content. Come on Sony get your act together.
