New iPhone 2009: Why an OLED display is good?
By: Peter Chubb | May 21, 2009 | 1 CommentThere have been a number of rumors of a new Apple iPhone 2009, and that we should see it released sometime this summer. The new smartphone looks to have a few minor upgrades, but it is the upgrade to an OLED display that has become the interest of many topics.
We reported in March that Apple have been working with LG, who is to supply them with a new OLED display for a new notebook, monitors and an iPhone. We have had many people comment on this, as they feel that it would not work that great with the games that we play on our iPhone.
You have to wonder why Apple has decided to use this technology the answer is simple. OLED displays do not require a backlight to function, this means that is draws less power from the battery. Getting more life from the iPhone is very important, as it does not have the best battery life out of all the other smartphones.
Would an OLED display make you upgrade to the new iPhone in 2009?
