Apple iPhone and iPod Warning: possible small electrical shocks
By: Peter Chubb | May 21, 2009
Apple has warned iPod and iPhone owners that they could possible receive small electric shocks from the headphones. The technology giant states that people could experience a small electric shock when they have headphones in their ears in an area where it is very dry.
The Economic Times said that the possible static shock could happen on an iPod or iPhone and accessories. Apple says that a buildup of static electricity could take place in your ear, which would result in a small electrostatic discharge from the headphones.
Apple say that it does not mean that there is something wrong with the ear buds, iPhone or iPod. The company said that this could not only happen to Apple hardware, it could also happen to any hardware. The best way to minimize this is to make certain that you do not use headphones in extremely dry environments.
