PS3 Owners: Would you pay PSN subscription fee?
By: Alan Ng | May 20, 2009 | 20 CommentsThere has been talk of Sony possibly introducing a subscription fee for their Playstation Network. The fee won’t affect online play, but instead the idea of giving you access to a number of PSN titles each month.
The news comes from Tawkn, after they spotted this questionnaire from Sony, asking users for their views on the possible service. The questionnaire seems to relate to the PSP quite a lot, but it’s pretty certain that the move would happen on the PS3 and then games paid for would be playable on the PSP.
How would you feel about a PSN rental service from Sony? It looks like Sony are not going to introduce any charges for online play, so we think this is an idea that looks promising. The move could also be further evidence that Sony are thinking of bringing the UMD format to a halt, with the next PSP hardware model being disc-less, meaning all games would be available on the PSN.
