General Motors News: Dealerships in Ventura County safe
By: Peter Chubb | May 20, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe reported a few days back that General Motors (NYSE:GM) had begun to notify 1,100 dealerships that they will be dropped next year, it appears that none will be in Ventura County, so those dealers are safe. We have also learned that GM has now added more to its closure list.
Employees at GM dealerships across the U.S. have been worried that they will be losing their jobs, such as the those at William L. Morris Chevrolet in Fillmore. Friday was a bad bay for them as they were waiting for the FedEx truck to turn up.
Ventura County Star was told by owner of the dealership, Chap Morris that the truck turned up but thankfully only had just parts and no letter from General Motors. Owner and employees were relieved, but that do feel sorry for all those who have appeared on the list.
