Firefox and AdblockPlus Add-on
By: Peter Chubb | May 20, 2009 | Leave a CommentWladimir Palant, the developer of the AdblockPlus Add-on, which is the most-used Firefox ad-blocking plug-in has been discussing how it has now become more publisher-friendly. When it comes to blocking ads on site, I like most of you tend to block them all, but publishers wish for Internet users to be more selective at what ads they decide to block.
BizReprt tells us that Palant believes that consumers are being turned away because of the increasing intrusiveness of online advertising. The thing is, consumers do not wish to see these ads, and they will never click on the ads either.
This sad truth is not what publishers want to hear; well the revenue from these ads is what keeps them going. Currently publishers have no way to put their message across to consumers who are using AdBlock Plus.
