AT&T and Verizon Wireless offer discounted netbooks
By: Peter Chubb | May 20, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe reported yesterday about Verizon Wireless offering a discounted HP netbook, well it seems as if AT&T want a piece of the action, and are to offer subsidized netbooks with data contracts. AT&T will not be offering a HP netbook; instead, they have collaborated with a number of computer makers.
AT&T started its trials with an Acer Aspire One, they were very successful, Information Week reports that the network carrier will be offering subsidized, Acer, Dell and Lenovo netbooks starting in the summer.
There are no pricing details, but should be announced later this month. It is expected that customers will have to pay for a monthly 3G service as well as subscription fees; this should start from about $60 per month.
