Apple Mac update 10.5.7 has no java fix

Apple recently released an Mac update for users, mainly addressing security issues. It has been reported though, that the 10.5.7 update has failed to fix a long time Java problem .

As reported from iTWire, the Apple Mac still contains a vulnerability in Java which is easily exploitable by attackers. The article suggests that this exploit can be used to give the attacker whichever privileges he wants.

iTWire also point out that Java is a Sun project, but Java for Mac OS is different as the responsibility goes to Apple.

Have you been having any problems with Java since the update? Share your thoughts on the subject below.

I just downloaded the recent Java updates, which are supposed to work with Mac OS 10.5.7. They are NOT stable. Within using it for about 15 minutes on the only poker site I use that requires it, I get disconnected. This happened last September with another update of Java. It did not work with my new Mac and I had to archive and reinstall everything to get rid of it and use the older version of Java which is stable.
