Xbox 360: Halo 4 coming by Microsoft Games Studio

Some exciting news now for fans of the Halo series, as a recent job listing by Microsoft has basically confirmed that Halo IV is on the way to the Xbox 360 and will be handled by Microsoft Games Studio.
According to 8BitJoystick, Microsoft’s Halo team have posted a job listing over at Gamasutra, requiring an Animation Director. The official requirement reads:
”Microsoft Game Studios’ Halo team is looking for exceptional art talent to contribute to a new experience in the Halo universe. Teamwork, innovation, attention-to-detail and unbridled passion are characteristics we look for in all of our artists.”
So this is huge news for Halo fans hungry for any fresh news. The article from 8bit also points out that this is not a project that will be handled by Bungie or Ensemble Studios, but from Microsoft’s Game Studios.
Expect an official announcement from Microsoft after Halo: ODST is released. Let us know what you make of the news.

Wow that is so cool love to play Halo get killed allot but its great fun.
halo 3 was shockin. even worse now with its out dated graphics and game play. look at gears 1 still looks amazing and game play is still up to date
i think your find that this is only your option and many people love halo 3. However gear1 was good and the graphics where amazing at the time (gears is not so good:() however i per sonly find gear to slow and boring the the general game play just doesn’t do it for me!
first of all if you think halo 3 had bad graphics then you have either never played it or you just werent paying any attention to the game when you were and secondly the games gameplay is nowhere near outdated because halo 3 have the copleate own style of gameplay witch is original and the most popular out of anyother making it allmost impossible to become “out dated” besides you cant try to shame halo 3 witrh gears of war 1 the game known for its increadibly slow engine and how you have to wait a few mins for the graphics to kick in even when they did they were nothing specil the game is fun yes and i have no problem with gears of war its a good game but gears of war one could also be said to have “out dated gameplay” because epic did nothing to change its gameplay during production so gears of war has the exact same gaming style as gears 1 so gears 2 would be imeadeatly out dated aswell while halo has changed almost every detail of gameplay inbetween each chapter of the trilogy i mean c’mon look at halo wars the even changed the entire game style once again i have nothing against gears of war its a good game and all but you just cant compete to different types of games whitch have years of difference between them
Why do you think it going to be for the 360 halo 2 took like 3 years to make the time taken to develop games increases all the time as they become bigger and better I could imagine up to 5 on a game as big as halo 4 (I would imagin a hole new game?phisics engine would be introduced as the expectation of halo 4 would be huge and im pretty shore the h3 engin wouldn’t live up to it) and there’s a good chance that the next xbox will be around by 20011/2012 im not to bothered what consol the next halo comes to but I think the 360 has real limitations on what you could do better than h3 with the power of the hardware and h4 would be a grate reason for people to buy the next Xbox. Also It mite not be halo 4 directly but going off at a completely different angle like odst.
first off the next xbox may be release in 2013 or even worst 2014 ..cause creating a new console costs a lot plus dont be overused with this idea of a new console ..maybe there may not be a HALO 4 and halo reach can the be the least game ..so wait idiot
Good, Franky will make a much better game. Halo 3 was good but what made Halo 2 was the unforgettable maps. Halo 3’s maps are all pretty much forgettable besides 2 or 3.
Anyone that say’s Halo 3’s graphics are bad you gotta be kidding me. It isn’t meant to be realistic, Halo has it’s own art style and the real geometry in the game is insane.

Halo reach is a prequel to halo 1.
Halo FPS’s should only be made by Bungie studios, anything else is not a halo game but a knockoff.

Bungie was a big part of Halo. But just cause their not doing Halo IV does not mean it will suck. People exaggerate Bungie’s involvement and awesomeness way too much. Halo IV can still be better than its Bungie cousins without them. Microsnot was the powerhouse behind the late Halo.
Finally. I remember arguing with all the idiots about this. It was blatantly obvious there was going to be another – the end of 3 made it obvious; the planet coming into view paired with the ominous music. And ultimately this is a business, and anything with the Halo name on it will make MS money.
Anyway, story-wise, there’s no way they are going to make another prequel (like ODST) or Reach (they’re not going to make the next Halo on an already officially established, finished story-line). I’m imagining an exposing of the prophets and why they hate the humans and how they came about the Forerunner technology and then why the forerunner tech is mysteriously familiar to the John “Reclaimer” 117.
First off, it has been confirmed that Halo: REACH will be a game.
Second, read the Halo books. We know why the prophets hate the humans. It’s because they’re the Forerunner’s Decedents/ “Chosen Ones” who are their heirs. The Prophets don’t want the Covenant to find out or else they lose their power and the Covenant disbands.
As for why Humans in general know about Forerunner tech mysteriously (read the books, most of them somehow seem familiar to it), it probably has to do with the above.
Halo 3 had a pretty definite ending in the fact that the Covenant was virtually dead with the loss of its three ruling prophets, although I suppose three more could take the throne. They did lose High Charity though.
If there IS a Halo IV, I would guess that a completely different entity other than the Covenant would be the main antagonist, most likely the flood or even a completely new race.
If you believe that there won’t be any Bungie involvement then you have lost your mind it is a microsoft title but is bungie love child they will have involvement. It will probably be mostly microsofts doing but they will be there you can bet on that.
