Looks like PS3 owners have finally gotten their price cut that has been speculated about for months. Before you get excited though, it’s not a major price cut and it comes from retailer Amazon, affecting both SKUs.
As reported from PS3Center, Amazon are now selling the 80GB model for $389, which is a measly $10 cut from the original. The 160GB model has also recieved a small drop, $20 in fact, bringing the price of that package to $479.
Amazon have made the price cuts global, so you’ll find the cheaper prices in your regions too. PS3Center have made the very interesting point about the choice of timing for the PS3 price cut. E3 can’t come any sooner can it?

I agree that this is not a mind-blowing price cut. However, it should be noted that Amazon also currently offers an additional DualShock3 Wireless controller for free if you purchase the 80GB PS3. That’s a $42.99 value. AND if you sign up for their three month free trial of AmazonPrime, you’ll get your PS3 in two days free of charge. Just make sure you cancel AmazonPrime before the trial expires or they’ll charge you $79 automatically to your CC.
