Chrysler closing list and legal fight
By: Peter Chubb | May 19, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe Chrysler closing list and its legal fight is still ongoing. This was started off when troubled automaker Chrysler released a list of 789 dealerships that will have to close its doors, a result of the bankruptcy of the company. This news has certainly dealt a huge blow to the already wounded car industry.
The National Ledger explains that since the announcement of the Chrysler closing list, a number of legal fights have already started. Chrysler National Dealer Council representative Arnold & Porter has discussed the case with his attorney Michael Bernstein, as they have a number of objections with the U.S. bankruptcy court.
Chrysler had told the dealers that they would set up a voluntary program; this would help them to shift their inventory of vehicles and part to those dealers who will remain in business. Those affected dealers have until May 26 to object.
