Apple iPod Sales: business might have dropped
By: Alan Ng | May 19, 2009
It has been reported that Apple may suffer a drop in their iPod sales compared to last year, according to the latest predictions from the NPD group. If this is true, it will be the first time that this has occured to Apple. Should they have reason to worry?
According to CultOfMac, Apple’s iPod revenue has continued to rise each year ever since they launched the iPod way back in October 2001. This time however, the NPD Group have predicted that Apple will sell between 9.5 and 10.5 million iPods this year, which is between 5 and 14 percent of last year’s mark.
This is separate to their iPhone sales, which the report states are continuing to deliver huge profits for Apple. As for the iPod though, is it starting to become unpopular with consumers?
