A 4G iPhone will gain subscribers faster than 3G
By: Peter Chubb | May 19, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere is a report doing the rounds from Pyramid Research, which states that next generation of mobile broadband technology will have over 100 million subscribers in just four years. So looking at the evidence, if Apple were to launch a 4G iPhone, then it will gain subscribers much faster than the 3G model did.
When we look back at 3G technology, it took over six years to reach the same kind of figures that 4G is expected to achieve in just four years. In the report, it says that one of the major factors in the growth would be cost.
LTE technology is thought to be cheaper technology, and most of mobile operators around the world already have this technology in place for their 4G networks. Deployment is due to begin in 2010 and 2011, with Verizon Wireless being the first to launch.
