We have been expecting the news that Verizon will be launching its first subsidized netbook, the HP Mini Notebook. We can now tell you that the offer is finally here, and as you would expect, will become very popular for Verizon’s users.
The netbook comes with all the usual features, such as a 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 80 GB Hard drive, 10.1 inch display, Qualcomm’s GOBI tri-mode EVDO/UMTS/GSM/EDGE 3G modem with dual-band EVDO Rev. A as well as triband HSPA access with US 3G support.
PhoneNews reports that the Verizon HP Mini 1151NR Netbook is 519.99 Month-to Month, or $349.99 on a - year contract, or $249.99 on a 2-year contract. The price reduces further with the $50 instant rebate, and if you select either the $40/month or the $60/month data plans, then the final price will be just $199.99.

Totally cool. Looking forward to this. This totally beats wifi since you can go anywhere you want.
These items are already a thorn in Verizon’s side. It is not because of their performance, but a summer launch that apparently has customers waiting for a product that they claim to be able to sell overnight on the Internet. However, they appear to have some back order issues already.
I got one, I use it for internet at work since they started monitoring peoples internet usage from the servers, haha take that!
LOVE IT! Birthday gift from my Mommy! I love being an only child. At 37, I am spoiled rotten. I love it! For exactly the reason someone stated above. On my breaks I got sick of administrators coming by watching me like they think I am viewing porn. I love internet research and now I can do it when I want to and it is nobody’s business. I take a break and fire this baby up. I am on the $60 plan. It is awesome not as quick sometimes but fast enough. I hope the processing speed gets quicker. I also would like the abilithy toput word and power point but for my purposes which is an intensive intensive internet researcher and viewer I love it. Thanks Verizon!
So basically if you buy the 2 year paln you only pay $249? And if you don’t you have to pay full price which is $519?
I am to understand that word, excel and other office programs are not on the notebook. What a let down that is what Iwanted to buy it for.
Bummer. I also wanted it for word and stuff. In my opinion it’s a must for all lap tops.
Just download Open Office 3
