Vectrix VX-1 Maxi Scooter
By: Peter Chubb | May 18, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe word Scooter is often considered to be something that a child would sit on and ride, but the Vectrix VX-1 Maxi Scooter is about to change all of that. This small two-wheeled vehicle weighs 515, so a little heavier than what a child would ride on.
The Maxi Scooter requires you to have a motorcycle license to drive it. The scooter is powered by an electric motor thanks to its 180-pound battery, so no need for any gas. All you need to do is plug the Vectrix VX-1 Maxi Scooter in to an electrical outlet, and you are ready to go.
The scooter is able to go for 50 to 60 miles on a full charge, and can reach speeds of up to 60 mph.
Using this kind of technology comes at a price, and that would be $8,000. However, the Obama administration is trying to help those who wish to purchase plug-in electric vehicles in the future; CNN News said that the credit what the government will be offering could reach up to $7,500.
