Chrysler Deals: Local dealers can’t sell new Chryslers
By: Peter Chubb | May 18, 2009 | 1 CommentThree local car dealers, Lou Bachrodt Jeep, Strandquist Motor and Belvidere Motors have been told that they are no longer allowed to sell new Chryslers anymore. These are just three of the 789 dealers who have appeared on a list from Chrysler, stooping them from selling their cars.
Rockford New Car Dealers Association president, George Schaffner has said not to write them off just yet. He explained to Rockford’s News Leader that just because a dealer like them have appeared on the list, it does not mean that they will be put out of business.
Other dealers have said the same thing, Strandquist sales manager, Dean Zimmerman has said that their doors will be staying open and that none if its staff will be losing their jobs. His words were “Chrysler filed bankruptcy, we didn’t.” Lou Bachrodt has also spoken out, and said that they will continue to not only sell Chevrolets, but also BMWs, Volkswagens and other cars.
