Palm Pre vs New iPhone 4G: results are in

The Mirror run a survey asking which new smartphone out of the Palm Pre and the upcoming Apple iPhone 4G they would choose and it looks as though we have a winner. Their readers said that they much rather have the Pre, crushing the hopes that Apple will be able to regain its crown as the number 1 smartphone.

It is thought that the new Palm Pre and a new Apple iPhone 4G will be released sometime in June, it had been hoped that we would see the new Zune HD phone, but Microsoft has denied this. The Mirror thought that it would be good for their readers to let them know which phone that would be shopping for next month, and I have to say that I was surprised by the outcome.

Let us not read too much in to this, we all know how these polls go. One thing is certain, the Palm Pre and the Apple iPhone 4G is in for one big fight this summer. We already know what we are getting with the Pre, but as we do not know the hardware for the iPhone 4G, I think that Apple might still have the edge.

    The Iphone will triumph cause Apple is the best. And technically it’s going to be the iPhone’s birthday sooo…. GO iPHONE ITS YA BIRTHDAY!

    I have to say, I don’t have an iphone, but I’ve had a WinMo and Nokia recently (due to work) … the iphone KICKS their @sses …

    The Palm Pre will have to go some to improve on it, and I doubt it will even beat the iphone 3G, let alone the 4G …

    The Pre looks excellent … but the iphone has such an advantage (apps, itunes, etc).

    Sorry, but we all know (or should know) that the Pre will be an excellent, popular also-ran.

    What are you guys? Loony? There is no 4g iphone… Sprint is the only carrier with a 4g rollout… the new iphone is just gonna be updated 3g iphone NOT 4G!! Learn about the Technology!! Jeeeez…. Such a horrible article!!!!

    Dude, relax! They’re talking about 4G as in 4th Generation iPhone, not a 4G network!

    … I might as well chime in … The 4G iPhone will most likely be this summer’s hottest gadget.

    the pre can sync with itunes and can run all the old palm os app (30,000 available) cut and paste and multitasking so how is it behind?

    Well again u make no sense because this will be the 3rd generation iphone.. there has only been 2 iphones! Wow some people!

    Palm pre beats the iPhone hands down, plans, features, etc. Just the already included turn by turn navigation feature ALONE makes me stick with it.
