E3 2009: Bigger PS3 2.80 update maybe and wishlist

As we told you earlier, PS3 firmware 2.76 is now out and available to download. Sadly though, it doesnt appear to add any new features, unless there are some hidden features in preparation for the next firmware update (v.2.80).

Quite a lot of you are disappointed with Sony in the lack of explaination for this firmware update. The only comment PS3 owners recieved was that the update ‘improved playback for some PS3 titles.’

Thankfully though, there have been big reports of an upcoming firmware update during this year’s E3 event. Features on the top of many of your wishlists include cross game video chat, skype support, a return for backwards compatibility, in-game music, better in-game XMB and much more.

What are your thoughts on the current firmware and what would you like to see in firmware 2.80?

    well what i think sony should do is yes add ingame music and yes add all ingame xmb features and backwards compatibility and faster xmb and cross game chat also i think sony should have a feature where all games like rag doll kung fu where we can make you tube videos and allow us to upload them to our page also have a software where we can color and draw on our photos and use a photo for our online ids and allow us to switch users ingame because it sucks to have to quit game and switch users because i have 2 psn ids

    May 14, 2009 at 11:08 pmI want my ps3 40gb to be able to play ps2 games!! I’m sure a boffin out there can make it happen!

    Erm;

    Rob; I’ve been playing PS2 games on my PS3 for many, many, many months now. In fact well over a year. ‘Superbike’ is an example. Final Fantasy X11; and One of the famous zombie shoot em up games; It’s late and I forget the PS2 title.

    buy ‘Everybodys Golf World Tour’ if you want some modern fun
