E3 2009: Bigger PS3 2.80 update maybe and wishlist
By: Alan Ng | May 14, 2009 | 44 CommentsAs we told you earlier, PS3 firmware 2.76 is now out and available to download. Sadly though, it doesnt appear to add any new features, unless there are some hidden features in preparation for the next firmware update (v.2.80).
Quite a lot of you are disappointed with Sony in the lack of explaination for this firmware update. The only comment PS3 owners recieved was that the update ‘improved playback for some PS3 titles.’
Thankfully though, there have been big reports of an upcoming firmware update during this year’s E3 event. Features on the top of many of your wishlists include cross game video chat, skype support, a return for backwards compatibility, in-game music, better in-game XMB and much more.
What are your thoughts on the current firmware and what would you like to see in firmware 2.80?
