Confirmed: Call of Duty 7 being developed by Treyarch

Some of you might of expected this, but it’s still pretty big news. It has been confirmed that Treyarch will be developing Call of Duty 7. The game will be the successor to World at War which was their last title.

According to Shacknews, Treyarch Senior Animator David Kim recently revealed on his blog profile that development work for COD7 is already underway. A quote from him states:

“I am currently on my second title as a senior animator in the games industry with Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7”

In case you aren’t aware, the Call of Duty franchise usually switch developers during each year. This has been the case with Modern Warfare 1 and 2 being handled by Infinity Ward and World at War and COD7 by Treyarch.

    I prefer call of duty World at war to call of duty 4, I never saw anything special in 4, I mean no co-op, an exceptionally short single player…

    Treyarch is not bad. Cod 3 has a great multiplayer, and so does CodWaW, but cod 3 is unique in its class system and capability to play split screen online. i love to share the specialmoments with my friends

    VIETNAM!!!!!!!! There hasn’t been a Vietnam game yet that has pleased me, I cant wait.

    I agree the single player on 4 was fairly dire. But at least you didn’t get stuck on invisible walls and 2 inch high rocks!!!

    Ah well each to there own hey I just can’t wait for COD 6 personally!

    Well…..WW2 has been used in video games too much, but I guess I am looking forward to a new setting like Vietnam or something (it will be hard to pull off a good storyline and multiplayer for vietnam war game, other games tried and failed). Especially for Treyarch, who’s Call of Duty games weren’t as good as IW’s.

    Okay this is a game that has so far been decided to be set in the cold war!:) Only problem is it is treyarch but at least it isnt another world war game which is good so yeah that is what I heard thank you.

    Cod 4 was a great game no doubt. but cod waw has dismemberment and n*** zombies. please in cod 7: keep those 2 items. because cod modernwarfare 2 has no dismemberment but is rumored to have a form of n*** zombies.

    I hope cod 7 is coming out and hopefully a new zombies or some other co-op – 4 player mode,
    i only really play xbox 360 when my friends are over and
    in my opinion cod 4 was boring, because it had a short singleplayer and the multiplayer was overrated. (got boring quickly.)
    i think cod 5 was way better . it had co-op, a way better singleplayer, better multiplayer and zombie mode.
    However cod 6 spec ops looks awesome.

    I agree please make infinity ward do cod7 and put some zombies in their also treyarch has some sucky graphics.

    I love WaW and I still play it now, I think MW2 is rubbish, I cant wait for the new WaW, bring it on!!!!!

    Call Of Duty: World at War was a horrible game. MOdern warfare and modern warfare 2 are the best. almost nobody liked world at war. why are they making another one? people like modern warfare better because it is MODERN!!!!

    well im sick of WW2 based games. i like the setting of the modern warfare but i think the COD francise could go in a new direction with like guerilla warefare in Africa like Blood diamond just saying… i would buy that

    Lets hope Treyarch can sort the whole COD multiplayer mess out……

    looking forard to the next instalment after the huge dissapointment of MW2 and its awfull MP (if we get the deds back, if not, i will not buy it), Vietnam should be a good setting too.

    Treyarch did a good job with WAW, give COD back the name it once had!

    well tbh i would hate a old 1900-1999 game.

    this modern warfare has stepped up call of duty, so going back to old times would be such a downer from the current cod 6. so for pllease please please sake dont create a shitty old cod. do somethingg like iraq or pakistan.

    I hope its better than WaW and also they should add more guns and a good multi player and a finishing touch a zombie mode i cant wait hope it comes out soon.

    Great that Treyarch will be making cod, I really liked COD waw, really was great, nice coop and multiplayer :) , and I really liked that soviet mission when u are a sniper, fakin owned :D , and I hope Treyarch makes another ww2 serie, and that IW should have called it something else not Call of Duty, cause call of duty is ment to be WW2 not modern pff…!!

    Dude on cod waw there was no getn stuck on shit or nothing it must just be your game or stuff. i prefer waw to mw2. in waw you actually have a little thing called recoil. in mw2 this is multiplayer btw you can shoot the entire feild with a smg like wtf cod waw ftw now the talk of nam omfg we lost the war but man the game is gonna be like christmas in july
