Apple iPhone gives boost to Pandora music sales
Filed under: Apple News, News

It has been revealed that Pandora, the web-based internet radio service, is enjoying a healthy number of sales now thanks to their iPhone application. Their iPhone app helped move Pandora into the mainstream and has since become one of the App stores most downloaded apps of 2008.
As IntoMobile reports, Pandora gains it’s revenue by selling music to it’s listeners through affiliate programs. The app lets you listen to a song and then buy it straight from iTunes or Amazon’s mp3 store if you like it. Pandora then earns a small profit based on each song sold.
Pandora CTO Tom Conrad has said that the company are selling around one million songs a month, with the Apple iPhone being responsible for 20% of those sales.
