There is nothing worse than being the first person to purchase a new gadget, there are a few problems with this. The first is that you pay more than the product is worth; the second is that there are always a few glitches and the third; they always bring out an updated version not long after. That is exactly what Kindle 2 users are facing with the launch of the new Kindle DX.
Kindle 2 users are filled with remorse, they have only had their product for about three months, and already there is a newer larger version of their e-book reader. Wired tells us that one of its readers is now battling it out with Amazon to exchange her Kindle 2 for the newer Kindle DX.
The Kindle DX offers a number of new features that the Kindle 2 did not, such as the larger 9.7 inches diagonally size. This is two-and-a-half times larger than the Kindle 2. Users have found that Amazon does not offer and upgrade option; it seems that there is no way of upgrading your Kindle 2 to the new Kindle DX, unless you pay the full price.

For the price of the new Kindle DX to think that it would actually have a colored display. If I wanted to read black and white books, I’d just buy one.
I think Amazon needs to get with the times. If I wanted to pay almost $500 dollars for a portable device I would just buy a PDA from Dell or something. I can read books on my Palm Treo Pro and I can also surf the web, check my emails, watch YouTube, listen to music…etc. And it’s in COLOR~!
My cell phone has more features than this Kindle DX. If I were in charge of pricing this item, I would only price it at roughly $200 for it’s lack of features.
Get with it Amazon and then get back with us when you have something more now, and not 1999.
Sorry, Aero BOy
It’s not a mini computer, or a cellphone. You’re not supposed to make calls on it, or text, or even check your mail. It’s an e-reader. It does one thing, and it does that one thing well; it allows you to read books.
It’s not trying or supposed to be, anything else. Go read books on your Palm Treo Pro; I will be reading comfortably long after your retinas burn out from staring so long at that tiny backlit screen and your battery dies from the prolonged use.
anyone that will make me a deal on the Kindle 2 so they can get the DX e mail me. Ill be just fine with a 2.
