Palm Pre phone will release with new wireless charger

The new Palm Pre smartphone is not the only new device being launched next month from the company. Palm plans to release Touchstone, its new wireless charger. The announcement means that Palm will be the first phone maker to integrate wireless charging into its products, which is one in the eye for Apple.
This new device sees us moving into a new era when it comes to wireless charging, it will bring attention to technology that is ready to take off. SFGate explains that wireless charging has been out for years, you only have to look at your electric toothbrushes, which has no wires when charging, the charging is done through magnetic induction.
Palm’s decision to use this will only be available for one device from the start, and that is the much-anticipated Pre. This will show to the world how important wireless charging will be, and should not be long before others follow.
