Garmin Nuvifone G60 release date delayed again

Some disappointing news to report now as it has been revealed that the Garmin Nuvifone G60 has been delayed yet again and pushed back towards a Q3 release in 2009.

As Engadget reports, the Nuvifone is Garmins first smartphone device and first outing in the cell phone market. The phone will run on the linux OS and be heavily tailored around their GPS expertise.

President and COO Cliff Pemble had this to say on the delay: “Smartphones are complicated and bringing one to market that’s built totally from the ground up on a custom Linux platform is not an easy task.”
