Dell Mini 10 6-Cell Battery: a closer look

The good people at MyDellMini have posted some close up shots of the 6-Cell battery for the Dell Mini 10. That means future Dell Mini 10 owners will now have two battery options to choose from.

If you head over to MyDellMini, you can view three high quality close up shots of the battery. The 6-Cell option provides 56WHr compared to the original 3-Cell’s 24WHr, however the 6-Cell will set you back an extra $30.

For those who have ordered 6-Cell batteries recently, these fresh pictures indicate that Dell are starting to ship them out now. Take a look at the pics in the link above and let us know what you think.

My Dell Mini 10 arrived the other day, and it has this huge tumorous growth on the bottom which doubles the height of the laptop. I spent hours on the phone with Dell trying to return it, as it simply does not meet my needs. Short story: there is no way to order the laptop I want, because they no longer offer the 3-cell as an option on the high-end Mini 10. Of course, they want to charge me a 15% restocking fee, even thought the laptop I received does not match the photos on their site, or the dimensions listed in the specs. I will never buy Dell again!

I had virtually the same experience. The device with the 6-cell battery is an ergonomic nightmare. I couldn’t return or exchange it. I will never buy from Dell again, after being a customer for over 2 decades.

Wow, Dell dropped the ball there. I love the mini but the short battery life (3 hours) makes it less useful as a portable tool for meetings. Sounds like the 6 cell battery is not a good alternative, huh?
