There has been a leaked document to do with the release of the Palm Pre, and it looks as though the release date will be on May 17, that gives us just 6 days. There have been a number of expected release date rumors, so we have to wonder how true this is.
Phones review has been doing some digging, and came across an Engadget article which involved a leaked spreadsheet document. It states that the Palm Pre will not launch before May 16, Phones Review thinks that the release date looks certain to be May 17.
You can clearly see the leaked document over on the Engadget website. So what can we take from this recent news then, not much really, but these release date rumors are certainly hotting up now, a sign that the Palm Pre is close.
The Palm Pre will also come with the first wireless phone charger

As much as I would love for this to be true…I can’t seem to believe it. Like a lot of people, I’ve already been waiting for this phone’s release for months.
Are phones normally released on Sundays? And why would Sprint/Palm not even advertise its release date?
But then again, I have seen a lot Sprint advertisements containing the Pre non-stop…even on Pandora…which normally mostly advertises the iPhone.
Here’s to hoping this rumor is true.
The reports you cite are almost a month old and have been dismissed by numerous other sources since then. Right now the smart money is on the June 5-7 window.
Indeed, quite old news.
“hotting up”?
I talked to a sprint agent today and she told me they were being told it would be the 2nd week of June.
Got the info on the Sweeps…if you check out the official rules you see that they draw the prize in May… according to sweeps laws in some states, they have to have the prize available to the public to award the prize. Since they are not limiting any of those states in the sweeps they have to comply with all states rules. So if you take the May 26 date they have on the sweeps and add the 5 day contact window they have to have the product by that time frame in those states before sending.
another nice thing in the sweeps… if you check out the ARV in the sweeps of the $1800 including a year of their unlimited plan. This cost is $100 per month or a total of $1200, $70-100 for the Touchstone, leaving $500 for the phone without the contract.
If you take this info, and check out the sprint 2 year contract fee (which is the amount of money they take off the price of the phone) you see that amount is $200 (That is a pretty standard rate). This means the phone can not be above $300.
as a person that rights official rules for sweeps I can tell you that once a company does a sweeps they give a lot away in the official rules because they are required to by law in great detail…always check the rules of any sweeps to get some nice info
I like this theory and hope its true; however when claiming to be an author, perhaps spell “writes” correctly.
