Internet Explorer 8: multiple instances of the web browser

Microsoft is in a constant battle with all aspects of its business, and one of the biggest battles is with its web browser. Internet Explorer used to be a PC users only choice a few years back, but now it is under threat from the likes of Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Google Chrome. Microsoft still has a few tricks up its sleeves, but could multiple instances of Internet Explorer 8 web browser be the answer.

Redmond hopes that by simplify browser session handling, it will make IE8 move away from what we call traditional model of “session merging.” Users will now see an extra option in the File menu dialog.

Firstly, we have New Window, then New Tab and the new one, New Session. Once clicked, it will open a new window of IE8; this will not share any cookies with the source window. This means that you could even log in to Hotmail as a different user. Softpedia explains this in more detail.
