Apple’s New Tablet: Could it be aimed at the gamer?

There seems to be so many rumors on the Internet about Apple at the moment, the latest one is that Apple is buying Twitter. That rumor is one of the stupid ones, but there are a number of other rumors that make more sense. Take Apple’s new tablet device; it now looks as though it could be aimed at the gamer.

Gear Log explains that Apple is working on a new 10-inch touchscreen device, and we know that the company is pushing hard to get into the world of gaming. If you do not believe that, then why have they hired two former Microsoft Xbox executives?

Apple are already focused on gaming, this can be seen on its iPhone and iPod Touch devices. These were not made to be gaming devices, but they have turned out to be a very popular handheld gaming device. Since the huge success of the Apple iTunes App Store, both devices have become a dominant force in the world of casual gaming.

A 10-inch Apple touchscreen device is inevitable, but what will its main purpose be?

I wish Apple would hurry and up lose that title of being a high-tech toy company. Wall Street thinks Apple is like Hasbro, only building products that people play with. That’s why RIM and their BlackBerry are considered better investments because RIM builds devices that people use for serious business.

Like WS really cares that people downloaded a billion apps from the App Store. I think the day that Apple reached a billion downloads, RIM went up much higher than Apple. This gaming stance only proves that Apple is becoming a bigger toy company. Microsoft can get away with having games because every corporation in America and maybe around the world use Microsoft Windows for business. RIM could get away with it because every major bank and law firm use secure BlackBerrys and those firms won’t even touch iPhones.

Apple needs to get at least one product into the enterprise just to prove it’s not only a toy company that makes a smartphone that’s only good for playing games.

As for this tablet, it will just be a bigger iPhone or iPod Touch. I’m sure it will sell, but hopefully it won’t be labeled as just a game playing device. The Kindle DX is all business. No mistaking it for anything else unless you choose to read comic books on it.
