We have seen a few of these types of stories already. The ones about Apple moving into the games console market. Anther article we’ve found has fueled the speculation once more. Let us know what you think.
Over at BruceOnGames, they start with a few facts about the timeline of Apple so far. Going from Mac to iPod, then to iPhone and then introducing iPhone games etc. They point out the clear area for financial gain that Apple could achieve if they created a games console, considering the successes of all their other devices.
Interestingly, they also have a mention of the ‘proposed’ Electronic Arts takeover that we wrote about just a few days ago. They mention that Apple could easily afford to buy them out and then move on from there.

Well, if there’s any company that can make a console with worse hardware quality than MS, it’s Apple. It would be most amusing to see Apple attempt to gain a foothold in the market, at this late stage of this cycle. I’m all for it, if it leads to their eventual downfall.

I bet you’re one happy chappie at Christmas Morne!!
Not entirely certain what Christmas has to do with it, but yes, I am, because I get things that are of high quality. Whereas, Apple just slaps the lowest quality hardware inside all of their machines, sticks the highest price possible on it, and tells you it’s awesome. Problem is, for the exorbitant amount you pay for a Mac, the performance, and longevity of said item, do not equal what you put into it.
Facts are, when you have competition and variety amongst the hardware used inside your machine, not only doesn’t quality increase, but so does performance. Hence the reason why Mac switched to Intel chips, and is now moving to work on their own chips (hopefully they won’t be made in Thai sweat shops as Mr Jobs would want).

Well if I want a console that that runs beautifully is of superior design and from a company that innovates and has great business strategy (1 billion apps downloaded in 9 months whew) then Apple would deliver and big time. If however I wanted a console that has a 33% failure rate, relies on buying and stealing ideas or simply driving competitors out of business and charges for gaming online well I guess we all know where to go.
Very true, i hope they do it, it will be funny watching them fail miserably
Well you completely stole my whole idea without crediting me from that other news thread about “Electronic Arts Takeover” which I commented on but hah I don’t care because as I already said it would be an amazing leap for apple

LMFAO This isn’t news. The writer asks “IF this was real news, and not complete rubbish, what would your input be”.
Is nobody else entertained at the complete lack of standards that Product Reviews has for it’s writers?
