Sprint’s profit before Palm Pre release

While the company prepares to release their long awaited Palm Pre, it looks as if they are having financial problems as the figures for their first quarter have been revealed.

According to Electronista, Sprint’s net losses grew from $505 million a year ago to $594 million in early 2009, which is a heavy 18 percent drop. Thats not all either as 182,000 total users were dropped from Sprint’s subscription service, resulting in a decreased total of 49.1 million customers.

While the company have high hopes for the release of the Palm Pre on whats hoped to be June 7th, they will need to tread carefully if they are going to stay on top of their financial worries.

Sprint & Palm are all bark & no bite. I am one of those loyal customers that they have taken for granted in their perpetual wait game. It seems to me if they had a product ready for market it would have been out already. Not only are we waiting for the Pre, now they want the public to wait for the Pixie or other non-existent products… Pleeze. In Texas we say if you can’t run with the big dogs stay on the porch. Sprint & Palm are at home on the porch

I was in a Sprint store yesterday here in Phoenix and was told that the Pre won’t be released until September. If that’s the case, Sprint will have a tough time getting back on top of their financial situation. My contract was up on May 1st, and I’m ok with a June 7th release date for the Pre, but if it doesn’t happen, I’ll be moving on the AT&T and the I-Phone.
