Final Fantasy XIII: PS3 and Xbox 360 engine worked simultaneously
By: Alan Ng | May 5, 2009 | 7 CommentsSquare-Enix have revealed that game engine work done on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of upcoming RPG Final Fantasy XIII were performed ‘simultaneously.’
In an interview with Videogamer, Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that work on the basic engine of the game for both versions will be made simultaneously.
As most of you are aware, the game will be released over in Japan first exclusively on PS3, then western versions for the PS3 and Xbox 360 will follow afterwards.
Kitase had this to say to Videogamer: “When it comes to the basic engine it’s likely we are going to keep them on the go simultaneously. But the finishing touches, the details, the PS3 version will be completed first, then we will move on to 360.”
