Earlier on, we wrote about the problems plagued with the latest edition of downloadable content for the PC version of Fallout 3. It’s now been revealed that the Broken Steel PC error is a Microsoft problem, relating to Games For Windows.
According to Kotaku, they contacted Bethesda for information on the PC error which everyone, including Bethesda seem to be getting.
The response from Bethesda’s Pete Hines was: ”We’re seeing the same error folks have reported, which is a Games for Windows Live DRM install error. Microsoft is working on fixing it, and we’ll let everyone know once we’ve verified it.”
So, hopefully it will be fixed up soon. It really doesnt look good for Bethesda does it guys? We’ll keep you updated as soon as progress is made on the fix.

Fallout 3 was such a good game I broke down and actually downloaded the expansions, that goes for Steam or any other distro service out there.
Never again, MS can bite me because they already have taken a bite with me paying for something I can’t use. I will only buy games and any expansions in a retail shops from now on. Patients is a virtue. This DRM crap coming out of Microbloats Live service really has me pissed off. All three Fallout expansions have had issues, I think MS is jealous of the great game Bethesda did. Bethesda needs to drop MS like a bad turd and not us them or their freaking Liove service ever again.
Uh-huh, so the problem has been diagnosed as being a problem with Windows Live’s DRM which is squarely in Microsofts court, so doesn’t “It really doesnt look good for Bethesda does it guys?” amount to little more than a biased jibe at the innocent party?
i think it’s more likely referring to the fact that bethesda is at the mercy of microsoft’s incompetent monopoly in this case, and not a jab at bethesda.
i never understood why Live was even incorporated into this game, it’s been nothing but grief since day one. people interested in the FO3 ‘community’ mainly stick to the modding aspect of it to begin with, which has nothing to do with M$.
Good post , very informative.
here I also have a good share that is: Tradestead , there are many kinds of beautiful and useful consumer electronics that I like it very much!
ah… go figure. thanks again microsoft. there’s a hack out which removes the live component from the game — i’d be interested to see if this would solve the problem.
Thanks MS. Thanks for nothing, again.
Honestly, I wish the DLC would pop up on Steam. That would make it a lot easier.
Needless to say, I hate G4WL. I only use it because it’s the only way to legally get the Fallout 3 DLC. If not for that, I wouldn’t use it. At all.
