Earlier on, we told you about the news leaked from Best Buy about prices for the upcoming Palm Pre smartphone. The details given appears to be very solid so we ask our readers the question: Will you buy the Palm Pre from Best Buy on June 7th?
If you havent already seen the leak from Best Buy, you can do so here. They are offering the Pre in a choice of prices for you. $199.99 on a 2-year contract, $299.99 on a existing customer upgrade or a whopping $999.99 for the handset.
Do these prices seem fair to you and are you willing to pick one up on June 7th? Let us know your thoughts.

Why would Sprint stores be left out of the release of argueably the best revelation in cell phones ever? I don’t see that happening. And 4500 handsets isn’t a release. That’s barely enough phones to get into the hands of their staff for training purposes in my opinion. As much as I’d like to get my hands on one it looks as though we’ll all be waiting until the end of June. When you hear numbers in the hundreds of thousands of units you’ll be talking release date then…
With 4500 units this is not a release. At best they are training or demo units. And, I can’t believe Sprint is silly enough to launch ONLY via BB.
That said, Sprint had learned nothing over the years if they expect their current paying customers to pay $100 MORE than a new customer for the privilege of upgrading to a Pre /w 2 year contract extension.
So, if Sprint really wants to charge its current customers $100 more than new ones then I won’t be purchasing a Pre at BB or Sprint.com or in a Sprint store on June 7th, 8th, or ever. In fact, I will strongly consider switching carriers.
That sounds very nice , I will have a look, normally I do most of my consumer electronics shopping at Tradestead.com there are many kinds of good consumer electronics with very cheap price. So , which one is better , I will have a comparison.
I talked to a BB employee and he confirmed the rumor and said they may even have a 2 month exclusive! What a total F-up by Sprint and Palm! Why on Earth would you leave it up to this company to decide whether or not you stay in business??? As for the $100 difference I’m with you, Dep, no f-ing way I pay it….I’ll just switch carriers and pis# on the the PRE. You never turn your back on your Premier customers. I’ve been in retail a long time and that’s a recipe for disaster….very disappointed.
